:: Our Marriage Solemnisation ::

Firstly, BH and myself would like to sincerely thank all relatives and friends who took time to attend our Marriage Solemnisation... Thanks for the gifts and ang pows... and also thanks to those who were not able to attend but sent us their wishes...

A big thank you to Evelyn for helping us being the emcee for the day...

8.30am - Daddy fetch me to bridal shop
9.00am - To be at bridal shop for makeup
10.15am - Makeup done & proceed to change into my ROM dress
10.20am - Styling of BH's hair
11.00am - Leave for ROM venue

Start Of The Day
The day started off quite well... No stress, no panick... Gave BH a wake up call at around 8.30am before I left the house and reminded him to bring the rings...

Preparation & Makeup
I reached the bridal shop punctual, at 9.00am. Sammi (my makeup artist) started putting on my makeup straight away... and complete at around 10.00am... Ken (BH's colleague) fetched BH & parents and they reached the bridal shop at around 9.45am... While I change into my dress, Sammi proceeded with styling BH's hair...

Mummy had appointment with the hair salon at 10.00am to set her hair and it took about 30 minutes...

The Journey
My family was on the way to the bridal shop at around 10.40am... They reached at about 10.55am and off we all go... BH & parents took Ken's car, and I took my daddy's car... Daddy started to get a little panicky and worried that we will be late... There was heavy traffic at the expressway... And I started to feel stressed... But I tried to calm my daddy down by telling him that it's ok that we reach there at about 11.45am... Luckily the heavy traffic cleared and we had managed to reach at around 11.30am...

Thomas (BH's buddy) reached the ROM venue at about 11.00am to check the venue out and to prepare himself for photo-taking...

Before Solemnization
At around 11.45am, guests started to arrive... BH & myself were busy welcoming our guests and leading them into the room... Almost everyone was here by 12.15pm... And our Solemnizer (Mr Wilson Song) arrived too... We proceeded to a room for a short briefing by Wilson on the procedures...

Highlight of the Day
At about 12.35pm, BH & I gave the cue to Evelyn to start... The SDS staff assisted us to play the march-in song... And we marched-in as slow as we can (instruction given by Wilson)... And smiled as we walked in... haha... Both of us were quite nervous during the march-in lah...

We reached our seats (finally!!! Took forever.. HAHA..) and Wilson proceeded with the solemnisation...

Photo Taking & Lunch Reception
After Wilson pronounced us as 'Man & Wife', we proceeded with photo-taking... Thereafter, everyone started to proceed for the lunch reception...

End of the Event
At about 2.00pm, guests started to leave... By 2.30pm, the only people left in the room were my family and Thomas... We packed our stuff and started to leave off too...

Tiring day... but it was an exciting and fun one too... An experience of a lifetime...

:: Collection of Marriage Certificate ::

Took morning leave for this... Appointment for verification & Statutory Declaration was scheduled at 9.30am. We both met at around 9am at City Hall, and walked over to ROM... We reached there around 9.25am... took a queue number and waited for our turn...

When it was our turn, we were to produce all the necessary documents for verification (our NRIC, NRIC photocopies of our 2 witnesses, solemnizer's consent form, and the copy of filing instructions).

What took us off-guard was the administration of Statutory Declaration before ROM’s Commissioner of Oaths.. We didn't know that we need to say our oaths verbally on the spot... Anyways, we took turns to read out the declaration with our right hand raised up... Thereafter, we signed some documents and were given instructions on what to bring on the actual ROM day...

:: E-Filing for Notice Of Marriage ::

27 April 2008, Sunday

Finally, we sat down together to do this. Took us about half an hour to go through the steps and e-file for Notice of Marriage with ROM.

At the end of the e-filing, we were given an appointed date (17 June 2008, Tuesday, 9.30am) to go to ROM for verification of documents and the administration of Statutory Declaration before ROM’s Commissioner of Oaths.

:: Bridal Package ::

26 April 2008, Saturday

Bridal package with Whitelink confirmed. This was actually a recommendation through BH's colleague... So excited when I get to try on the dresses... haha... Seldom wear such dresses mah...

Was quite happy with the package... and most importantly, their service... thumbs up (not trying to advertise for them hor... personally feel comfortable when i'm at the bridal shop lor...)

Their designs are nice... And I can't wait to put on my dream gown on my actual day... Will have to start thinking on what design I prefer for my gown liao... weeeeeee~

:: Solemnization Package + Purchasing of Couple Ring ::

22 April 2008, Tuesday

Our Marriage Solemnization is confirmed at StarDuS, 21 June 2008, 12.30pm!

I was on half day leave... After running errands for our house, we still have some time. Hence, we called up SDS and checked if they are available to meet us to confirm our package with them.

We were at SDS around 5pm. Filled up some forms and confirmed details. We were given 10 sets of invitation cards, 2 magazines and a guest book.. Also made a deposit payment based on a minimum of 30 pax...

I had to select my hand bouquet too. Well, this was a headache... I don't know what I'll be wearing for my ROM... So... I chosed a few bouquets first.. and will submit my final decision on the bouquet when I have confirmed my ROM dress...

Things I need to confirm:
- No. of pax
- Buffet menu
- Hand bouquet

On the same day, we purchased our couple ring at SK Jewellery after our dinner at Century Square..

:: Checking Out Celestial Bliss Package ::

16 April 2008, Wednesday

BH came across this package and venue at ROM website - Celestial Bliss Package, made available by StarDuS (SDS).

As we didn't want to crack our head in finding a location, we made an appointment with SDS to meet up with them on 16 April 2008, Wednesday after my work. The lady we met was very friendly. She met up with us and brought us to the 2 rooms which are commonly used for solemnization ceremonies (Infinity Pub and Milky Way).

At that point in time, we were not very sure of total number of people we will be hosting.. At an initial count, we may have about 50 people. But we may have more. Infinity Pub seemed a little too small to host 50 pax although level 2 is opened for use too. Milky Way seemed to be a better choice although the room looks kindda boring. Anyways, we tentatively booked the Milky Way for 21 June 2008, Saturday from 12pm-2pm to hold our marriage solemnization.
